We're Back!

We arrived home from Italy late Wednesday night, and I am still recovering. We had a very nice time, and I have to thank Massimiliano, who is an FCI/ENCI judge for helping me to get Lucky, I am very happy with him. And thank you for taking us with you to Sicily. Thank you as well to Roberto Nardini of Borgo di Pratica, and Aiello Giuseppe of Gelso Bianco for allowing us to visit!

Also we did an ultrasound today, and Duna is pregnant!!! So we will have Cirneco pups due mid-November. We will do an x-ray when the time comes to get a count, but on ultrasound we see between 1-4 puppies ;-)

Not long now...

So it will be just a few days before we leave for Italy. Sadly the ENCI did not approve the Cirneco specialty in Sicily, so we will just do some sightseeing instead. I am very anxious to see Mt. Etna, and all the seaside villages, and will post some photos when I return.
We now know the name of our new puppy. His name is Lucky del Borgo di Pratica, and he now has his own page on our site. I will take some photos of him as soon as we arrive back in the US.

Italy!

Well it is official! We will be going to Italy the first week of October. While there we will go to Sicily for a Cirneco Specialty, and will show our new male puppy. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, and will will be able to fly back to Tennessee with him on the 10th. I am very excited to add a new dog to our lines. I am very anxious to meet him, and must offer my thanks to Massimiliano for encouraging me to come to Itlay, and to Roberto for agreeing to place a dog with me.
I hope to have lots of photos to post when I am home!

Also Duna will be bred for a November litter. Sire will be my homebred boy Reno, BPISS Sambuca Adriano. The lovely couple is pictured here.

New Blog

Well I decided that I should update my site more often, so everyone would know what is going on at Sambuca. So I decided perhaps a blog would work best!
Not many new things to report at the moment. It has just been so hot and dry that all the animals seem a little subdued. We have gotten a little rain lately though, so the dog yard is starting to green up and is looking a bit less like a baron wasteland.
Cirneco pups are growing up fast. They are now 11 weeks old, and are starting to fit their long legs. So far I am happy with the quality of the litter, and I must thank Nancy Lee Wight of Rockin' Heart for letting me use Belpasso, and thanks to Annikki Peltola for breeding such a nice boy.
Doriano will stay here at Sambuca, and I hope he will mature into my next show dog. He is looking very nice now, with a nice strong front and the best ears and expression. Hopefully I can get some photos of them all soon!
